http://www.Sfist.com/labs/contribute en-us Reader-submitted tips http://www.Sfist.com/labs/contribute/#2397172 Thu, 29 Jun 2006 18:20:41 -0500 i am so sick of muni. i was involved in an altercation on the 22 last night in which the driver refused to give a transfer to someone who had literally just paid the fair. why is muni punishing people who play by the rules while condoning all those assholes who ride muni for free and are thus bankrupting the entire system? i am extremely resentful of the fact that muni service is decreasing, there is excessive violence and nastiness on the buses all the time, the price is being hiked again (for monthly passes) and muni isn’t doing shit to try and recoop all those free rides it gives. fuck muni. the driver last night was a fucking asshole and a half. the woman who asked for the transfer asked politely twice and was refused. i tried to obtain a transfer for her and ended up arguing with the bus driver for several minutes. also, changes to the service is supposed to start afetr december 5. but i can tell you from my daily commute that muni has already cut back service, and i’m not the only one who has noticed. my buses have been running less frequently and just plain not showing up. so what’s supposed to happen after december 5? even less service?? muni is holding commuters financially hostage and leaving them high and dry! thanks for listening… -an outraged commuter http://www.Sfist.com/labs/contribute/#2396736 Thu, 29 Jun 2006 18:20:41 -0500 Check out KPIX’s Hank Plante’s interview with Newsom broadcast last night, particularly the very end. Randall Caudle said he received confirmation a few hours ago from the Immigration Customs and Enforcement agency (ICE) that Celebi-Ariner would be removed to France as soon as a contracted flight becomes available, most likely in the next week or two. Celebi-Ariner — proprietor of the Amuse Bouche street-food business — was picked up by ICE agents on Oct. 28 for overstaying his visa waiver. “They said he can file for legal permanent residence here, but he’d have to do that through the embassy in France,” Caudle said. To do that, he said, Celebi-Ariner would have to get a waiver of his removal order, which Caudle said is very difficult to do.
