It has been exhibited at the Power Plant, Fort York, The Gladstone Hotel, as part of Doors Open, and in the fall will be at Toronto City Hall. This year we are exhibiting the work at the CNE, in a partnership with the Design exchange and the Art Gallery of Ontario, where we will be running child and family focused workshops. There used to be an optician operating under the name of “Plimmer’s ” in Trinidad some years ago. It is possible that he is a Trinidadian immigrant, and learned his business practices in Trinidad. But the Ontario laws are holding them back (understandably so since they are not qualified to do full comprehensive eye exams). So my guess is that Adam Plimmer is their hero for fighting the system and doing what they think they deserve. And that’s the reason why they’re not going to discipline him. Just watch in the next few weeks. My bet is that the Ontario College of Opticians don’t do anything to him. Plimmers profession. I asked if they were investigating Mr. Plimmer. Guess what, the could not share any information at this point due to investigations are confidentail and privacy concerns. What privacy concerns? The guy is caught on tape assaulting a senior citizen which is broadcast all over North America and has several complaints against his business practices. How would A. Plimmer privacy be affected or the confidentiality of investigation be affected. Refraction is a eye test which determines your prescription - and eye examination determines the health of your eye including your prescription - years ago - Opticians were refracting - but it is illegal to do so now. Great Glasses does the same thing - they too need to watch out. King West Optical sells fake product - the Oakley’s that Adam sold to a customer (shown in a previous report) - were completely fake - even the case it came in was totally fake. It would be hilarious to find the wrong type and send him into the store with a hidden cam so that we could see a side of Plimmer no one would imagine exists. Plimmer will learn one day. Either that, or he’ll be hand washing underwear at the local prison for the ‘wrong type’ for a while.
